Member Rates
To qualify for member rates, you must be a member of ACM SIGIR, ACM SIGCHI, ACM SIGWEB, ACM, or ASIST.
Terms of Payment
All fees should be paid in advance in US dollars, using credit card (AMEX, Mastercard, or Visa). Full payment must be included with registration. Partial payments and purchase orders for future payment will not be accepted.
Letter of Confirmation/Receipt
A confirmation and a receipt of your paid fees will be sent to you by e-mail after full payment has been authorised.
Terms of Cancellation
CANCELLATIONS or substitutions must be sent to us in writing by fax or email.
- Cancellations received on or before June 30, 2006 will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee and any remaining payments will be refunded.
- Cancellations received from July 1 through July 15, 2006 will be subject to a cancellation fee of $100 or 50% of the total registration fees paid (whichever is greater) and any remaining payments will be refunded.
- Cancellations received after July 15, 2006, are not refundable.
- Substitutions will be accepted, if made in writing by the original registrant, with no penalty until August 1, 2006.

Welcoming Reception, Sunday August 6, 2006
The Welcoming Reception and dinner for SIGIR 2006 will be held at the new Boeing Future of Flight Aviation Center. The Future of Flight is a unique interpretive center to help visitors look into the future of commercial aviation. Visitors are offered a remarkable opportunity to see both commercial jet production today and the direction aviation is headed in the future.
The Future of Flight mission is to engage you, the visitor, in the wonder of flight - from the astonishing miracle of powered flight itself to the impact of commercial aviation on humanity around the globe. The Future of Flight features hands-on exhibits, videos, graphics and interactive stations.
6:15 PM Board busses at University of Washington.
6:30 PM Depart University of Washington for Future of Flight Center.
7:00 PM Upon arrival at the Future of Flight Center appetizers and refreshments will be provided. Enjoy live music by Soul Intentions while you tour the center.
8:00 PM Renowned Hilton Gardens Executive Chef Daniel Ortiz will serve up a Northwest dinner.
10:00 PM Loading buses for University of Washington and Hotels (Silver Cloud Inn and Watertown Hotel).

Sigir06 Awards Banquet at Tillicum Village, Tuesday August 8, 2006.
Since 1962, thousands of groups have visited Tillicum Village for the fresh salmon dinner and to experience the Northwest Coast Native American culture. Located only 8 miles from Seattle's downtown waterfront on Blake Island State Park, this Beautiful shore side location will host the Sigir06 Awards Banquet. Enjoy a wonderful 45 minute summer boat cruise to Blake Island with breathtaking views of the city! Walk up a path strewn with white clamshells bleached by the sun, dine in an authentic cedar longhouse, savor salmon baked over open fires on cedar stakes and enjoy a spellbinding dance performance, providing an emotional journey through the legends and dances of the Northwest Coast Indians.

6:00 PM Depart University of Washington for Pier 55
6:30 PM Meet at Pier 55 Tillicum Village ticket booth.
6:45 PM Board the Argosy charter vessel for Blake Island. Light snacks and beverages available on board.
7:00 PM The vessel will cruise from Pier 55 to Blake Island. Enjoy beautiful views of the Seattle skyline and Elliott Bay by daylight.
7:45 PM Arrive on Blake Island. Savor appetizers of clams in a lightly seasoned nectar broth, then progress into the great cedar longhouse for an award-winning salmon feast.
During dinner enjoy Sigir 2006 Awards and "Dance On The Wind," a spellbinding stage presentation highlighting some of the traditional dances, myths and legends of the Northwest Coast in a magical and unforgettable setting, produced by Greg Thompson of Seattle.
10:00 PM Board the chartered vessel from the marina on Blake Island State Park for the return trip to Seattle and Pier 55. Enjoy once again the magnificent view of the Seattle skyline from the beautiful waters of Elliott Bay by night.
